The Architecture is Desert Modern

The homes in Miralon are built in the "desert modern" style so popular in Palm Springs California. This style of architecture and interior design originated in Palm Springs in the mid-20th century. Desert modernism is a blend of midcentury modern architecture with the desert landscape, and is characterized by its use of natural and manufactured materials, clean lines, and indoor outdoor living spaces. This style is notable for its use of glass, clean lines, natural and manufactured resources and the connection of indoor and outdoor living spaces. If there is any question as to Miralon's credibility as a desert modern community, Modernism Week has held events at the community.

Miralon has some amazing amenities including 2 pools with poolside cabanas, a spa (hot tub), a well equipped gym known as the Energy Zone, a Fitness / Yoga studio, a full service bar - the Mirabar (currently open Friday and Saturday evenings only), a demonstration kitchen, running / walking / biking trails, a cafe with barista service (Saturday AM only), a demonstration kitchen, community barbecue, fire-pit and a community garden.

Miralon is an Agrihood

Wikipedia defines an agrihood as a type of planned community that integrates agriculture into a residential neighborhood. The purpose is to facilitate food production as well as provide green space, recreation, aesthetics and value for a community. The Urban Land Institute defines agrihoods as "single-family, multifamily, or mixed-use communities built with a working farm or community garden as a focus." In 2014, the term "agrihood" was first introduced by Southern California-based development company Rancho Mission Viejo LLC as a marketing trademark to target affluent millennials who wanted housing closer to fresh food. Agrihoods are based around the concept of integrating farms and gardens into neighborhoods, allowing for the development of residential neighborhoods that have a rural feel.

The Olive trees at Miralon were planted and are harvested by the Temecula Olive Oil company which also does olive oil seminars for residents from time to time in the demonstration kitchen.

The builders at Miralon

Four companies have built homes in Miralon:

Woodbridge Pacific Group (WPG) built the homes in the Flair development.

PLC Communities built the Aura properties and they have plans for more homes.

Gallery Homes built Gallery.

Lennar unveiled Vitality in late 2024 and it is under construction now.

You'll hear people who live in Miralon say things like "I live in Flair" or "I live in Aura".

So far, all of the homes have been single family residences, but there are plans to build townhomes as well. PLC will most likely be the first builder in that phase.

WHERE IS MIRALON?

Miralon is just east of Indian Canyon Dr and bound by Sunrise Pkwy on the north and San Rafael on the south.

N Avenida Cabelleros leads to a resident entry gate which turns into Miralon Way. There is also a resident gate leading to Indian Canyon Dr heading north.

If you are coming to Palm Springs from the east, it is best to take the 111 exit because Indian Canyon Dr is often shut down due to either construction or wind storms.

The main entry gate for visitors is found on Sunrise Pkwy.
